Hexcells Infinite is the third and most powerful game from the Hexcells series of puzzle games. While the previous two games offered a limited number of puzzles that could be finished in less than thirty hours even by casual players, Hexcells Infinite includes a level generator that can create a huge, 8-digit number of puzzles of random difficulty levels. In other words, it brings limitless replay value for a really affordable price. Furthermore, unlike the other games of the series, Hexcells Infinite also supports mid-level saving and cross platform cloud saves.
Hexcells Infinite is a logic puzzle game that resembles quite a lot the popular Minesweeper game that was included by default in many Windows OS editions. Anyway, it's much more intricate than Minesweeper, not only because the puzzles can have more shapes and sizes, but also because guessing the correct tiles can be done based on different types of hints. Anyway, logic is always used to solve the puzzles, and nothing is left to plain guessing or to luck, and this is also the thing that makes this game so charming and addictive. The level of satisfaction that you will feel once you solve a puzzle, knowing there was no luck involved but only your skills, is truly beyond words. That, of course, if you're into playing this kind of games in the first place, games that put your mind to the test.
As for the graphics and the audio aspect of the game, they're minimalist but elegant. It won't impress visually, but it also won't make you shiver in disgust. Considering how small, neat, lightweight and affordable it is, Hexcells Infinite is a must have for any puzzle game solving enthusiast, but also for casual gamers. It's certainly one of my favorites as well.
